A 21-year-old Clinton man has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center on an unreported bond amount after being charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and one count of third-degree burglary.

Sayre High School would like to bring attention to an outstanding achievement within our community. Cassidy Crabb, SHS Senior and daughter of Danny and Jennifer Crabb, has recently achieved the remarkable distinction of being named a National Merit Scholar Finalist and an Oklahoma Academic All-State honoree.

Thirty-five teachers from across Oklahoma participated in a day-long Professional Development Workshop hosted by the Southwest Alliance for Girls Enrichment in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Humanities, and Mathematics (SAGE STEAM) at the Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) Weatherford campus on Saturday, Feb. 3.

The SWOSU College of Pharmacy will be hosting a Pharmacy Day for high school juniors and seniors on Wednesday, March 6th from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This program will consist of handson, interactive lab activities conducted by faculty and students at the College of Pharmacy as well as prizes, giveaways, and lunch provided at the SWOSU Student Union. Established in 1939, the College of Pharmacy at SWOSU has positioned itself as one of the best educational values for pharmacy in the nation. Given the nationwide shortage of both pharmacists and pharmacy students, this is a great time to consider the profession. The goal is to educate high school students about the pharmacy program at SWOSU and the many exciting opportunities currently available to graduates with a pharmacy degree. There is a 60-student limit for this event, and it is first-come, first-served. Students can register directly, or school officials can register for multiple students to attend. Lisa Friesen, Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) has been awarded a substantial grant of $1,034,341 over three years through the USDA Rural Development Learning and Telemedicine Program.
