Elk City High School Gets a C on the State’s Report Card

Elk City High School received an overall C grade in their 2223 Report Card. The State of Oklahoma earned 55 percent, while ECHS earned 47 percent overall. In the area of chronic absenteeism, they earned 3.06 points out of ten possible points. This brought them in at 73.05 percent compared to the state’s 70.96 percent. Chronic absenteeism refers to students who miss ten percent or more of the school year for any reason. This indicator could mean a student is at academic risk.

OHA Names GPRMC CEO As Sec/Treas To Board; Gebhart Chosen As Chair Elect

The Oklahoma Hospital Association installed a new board chair and elected new board members during its recent annual business meeting. Denise Webber, president & CEO, Stillwater Medical Center, was installed as 2024-25 chair of the OHA board of directors. Installing Webber were Tammy Powell, immediate past chair and president, SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital – Oklahoma City; and Rich Rasmussen, OHA president & CEO. Jim Gebhart, community president, Mercy Oklahoma, was elected to serve as chairelect of the OHA board. He will serve as the association’s board chair in 2026-27.

2024 Beckham County Fair Board Election

Beckham County Fair Board Elections for the Fair Board Members ( One for each county commissioner’s district) will be held on Friday, February 2nd, 2024 from 1-4 P.M. The official filing period for the election is January 22nd, 2024 thru January 26, 2024 (which is the required five consecutive business days.) The elections will be held at the following location: Dist #1, Dist #2 and Dist #3 will all be held at the Beckham County Commissioner’s office, 301 E. Main St. (Courthouse Annex located in Old Northfork bldg North of courthouse) Only registered voters of Beckham County are eligible to file as a candidate. Any person filing must reside in the Commissioner’s District or city they seek to represent . Fair Board members serve a term of three (3) years. Anyone interestedin filing for the Fair Board should file with the Beckham County Clerk’s office at the Courthouse in Sayre. You will be given a form prescribed by the board of County Commissioner’s for Beckham County. Terms Expiring in this year are: Dist #1 - Kolby Cole Dist #2 - Dillon Partain Dist #3 - David Brinkley Dist #3 - Cody Varnell (Transferred out of district)
