Eighth grade students in Northfork Electric Cooperative’s service area have the opportunity to experience leadership and energy in a whole new light this summer. Applications are now sought for the 2024 session of Youth Power Energy Camp held annually at Canyon Camp in Hinton.

As prom approaches, the Elk City High School’ s Fashion Design class has been designing their own newspaper formal gowns under the direction of their teacher, Brycee Bonner. The class was randomly put into two different fashion teams to approach the project. They were given their instructions and then started the project.

The Elk City School Board met at 6 pm on Monday, February 12 for its regularly scheduled meeting.

Red Carpet Community Theatre’s director Benjamin Dobbs announced the cast for “Arsenic and Old Lace,” that will open Friday, March 22, and run through the weekend. The following week’s schedule will be Thursday, March 28th, Friday, March 29th, and Sat. March 30th. There will only be one matinee performance on Sunday, March 24th at 2 p.m.

Northfork Electric’s 2024 Youth Tour delegates emerged from four finalists on Tuesday, January 30 during the cooperative’s annual Youth Tour Finals Banquet.

At their regular meeting Feb. 5, members of the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission accepted a $25,000 grant-match donation from the NRA’s Public Range Fund.

STILLWATER] – The Oklahoma Pecan Management Program offered through Oklahoma State University Extension will host a free pecan workshop on Feb. 22 to help growers with pest management. The event will also offer producers five continuing education units for a private pesticide applicator license.
