Tuesday’s game against Fairview Yellowjackets Varsity was a heartbreaker for Sayre Eagles, as they lost the lead late in a 9-8 defeat. The game was tied at eight with Fairview Yellowjackets Varsity batting in the top of the seventh when Cole Richter drew a walk, scoring one run.
The Elk City Elkettes Golf Team had a busy week with the Conference Tournament in Weatherford on April 17 and the El Reno Tournament on April 20.
Makenna Arnold of Sayre and Riley Hartman of Merritt were both selected to the Oklahoma Coaches Association Class 2A All-Star Team. This team is composed of the top 10 seniors in class 2A and is voted on by the coaches.
Elk City 8th 2023 defeated Clinton JH 8-0 on Friday as four pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Freddy Arvizu struck out Berma to finish off the game.
Emily Cantwell threw a gem on Thursday for Canute Varsity Trojanettes, allowing zero runs and besting FGFS HS Softball by a score of 6-0 Canute Varsity Trojanettes secured the victory thanks to four runs in the third inning. Canute Varsity Trojanettes’s big inning was driven by a single by Jade Gray, a sacrifice fly by Cantwell, and a double by Taylor Polensky.
Merritt Oilerettes SP Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning, when Hallie Smith singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
JH Oilerettes SP watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-2 loss to Canute Trojanettes JH on Tuesday. Canute Trojanettes JH took the lead on a single in the first inning.
Ty Jameson was an RBI machine on Tuesday, driving in six on two hits to lead Elk City Elks Jv past Hobart 15-3 on Tuesday. Jameson drove in runs on a grand slam in the first and a double in the fifth.
Elk City Varsity Elks sailed to an easy victory over Weatherford 11-3 on Monday Elk City Varsity Elks opened up scoring in the first inning, when an error scored two runs for Elk City Varsity Elks.
The Canute Trojans squared off twice against the the Cordell Blue Devils on Wednesday, winning both games with a heavy command.
