Merritt Head Coach Barrett Richardson said he sees possible areas to build upon for the football team’s final game next week.

This week, the Oilers squared off against Hooker at home for Senior Night.

The Oilers had one more first down than Hooker, but ultimately lost the game 49-13.

Both of Merritt’s touchdowns came in the fourth quarter from MHS Senior Caleb Compton.

“A little outmatched but played tough,” Coach Richardson said. “Still had some good things happen that we can build on for next week to finish up the season.”
