Local food trucks aligned the street outside of Big Elks Stadium as fans poured in to support their Big Elks. The stands were packed to cheer on Elk City in an important district game.
Elk City ultimately won the game, 21-14. Coach Andy Peffer said, “We started the game with a Pick-6, which was huge for momentum.”
The Elks scored their first touchdown in the first quarter.
The second quarter saw the Elks up, 14-7.
In the third quarter, the Elks held the Eagles to 7, but tacked on their third touchdown.
The Eagles did manage to score another touchdown in the fourth quarter, but the Elk City defense stayed strong.
“This was important for playoff positioning,” Coach Peffer added. “Jeremiah Jackson had two interceptions on defense, one for a touchdown. Cole Buie had two interceptions, and Tucker Garza had one interception.”
Garza also had a 16-yard touchdown run. Buie added a 19-yard touchdown.
