Parents and Students, Welcome to the 2023-2024 School year! Classes will begin on Thursday August 17 with enrollment beginning on August 9th. Cordell - The excitement in Cordell, Oklahoma, is reaching a fever pitch as the town gears up to host the highly anticipated 36th Annual Cordell Pumpkin Festival and Car Show. This beloved fall celebration promises a day of thrilling activities, delicious food, family-friendly entertainment, and so much more. Mark your calendars for October 14th from 9 AM to 3 PM, as this event is set to be the highlight of the season!

A 41-year-old Elk City City man has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center on a $3,500 bond after being charged with resisting an officer, public intoxication, and felony assault and battery on a police officer.

A 41-year-old Elk City man has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond after being charged with child sexual abuse and rape by instrumentation.

The Elk City Commissioners met for their regular monthly meeting, Monday, Aug. 7th, at 7 p.m., in City Hall. Prior to calling the meeting to order, Mayor Cory Spieker and DeAun Ivester presented Patrick Mincher with his high school diploma. Spieker then gave the invocation and was followed by Rick Shelton leading the flag salute.

Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) and Elk City High School (ECHS) are partnering to provide higher education opportunities for ECHS students.
