International Overdose Awareness Day

Drug overdose is one of the world’s worst public health crises. According to the Oklahoma Department of Health, from 2007 to 2016 opioids were the most common drug involved in overdose deaths in Oklahoma. Fentanyl overdose deaths more than doubled from 47 in 2019 to 127 in 2020.

FBI Alert ECPD To Elk City Residence

On 07/28/23, Detectives received a call from the Federal Bureau of Investigations concerning their investigation of an internet crime against children. Detectives were told that a male subject was online at this time, and they (FBI) had reason to believe that an assault of a child was imminent. The Elk City Police formed an entry team and made entry into the residence located in the 400 block of west 6th street detaining the suspect and securing the scene. The FBI arrived and took the suspect into custody. Detectives with the Elk City Police Department observed 5 juvenile females inside the residence with ages ranging from 6 to 14 years of age.
