The Elk City School Board held their regularly scheduled school board meeting at 6 pm on October 9.
The most notable action item was approving the election for Seat 4.
After approving the September minutes, the meeting was called to order.
The board immediately discussed the resolution to approve calling for an election for Seat 4.
The seat is currently held by Katie Archer. The measure was approved, and the election will be held on February 13, 2024 if less than three candidates file for the position.
Should no candidate receive 50% of the vote, a run-off will be held on April 2.
The board also voted to approve closing precincts within Custer County and Roger Mills County.
The board approved the capacity limits to transfers at each site.
The board voted to approve the hiring of a board office custodian.
