An arrest warrant was issued on October 17 in the Beckham County District Court for a 35-year-old Elk City man after he was charged with two felony counts.
The first count was for second and subsequent domestic assault and battery, and the second count was for interrupting an emergency call.
The investigation began on September 29 when Beckham County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a call about an alleged domestic assault in progress at the Merritt Mobile Home Park.
The reporting party stated that they lived near the alleged victim.
The alleged victim had reportedly been banging on their door, “yelling and crying for help.”
The alleged victim reportedly stated that Robert Luna had beaten her up and choked her.
The alleged victim reportedly had “red marks on her throat and face.”
A deputy arrived within minutes. The deputy allegedly noticed “red marks on her forehead, chin, and throat.”
The alleged victim reportedly confirmed that an argument with Luna had become physical.
She also alleged that, while trying to leave the house, Luna took her phone from her and pinned her on the ground.
The deputy attempted to make contact with Luna, but Luna was not present.
Luna was charged in April with exploiting the elderly.
