The Elk City School Board met at the Elk City Board of Education on March 11 for their regularly scheduled meeting.

STILLWATER. – One of the impacts of the recent wildfire in Texas and western Oklahoma is the reality that some surviving heavily pregnant cows may have injuries that prevent them from feeding their calves following birth.

Once again, the Great Plains Amusement Carnival will be at Ackley Park March 28th through the 31st. This is sponsored by the Elk City Chamber of Commerce and will provide an evening of fun for the entire family.

The Sayre Public Library would like to invite the community to a book presentation, “For the Love of Teddy” authored and now published by Pauline Ringer.

Kids will be out of school this week and the Arrowhead Center has planned activities for March 18th, 19th, 21st, and 22nd. There will be a morning session from 10 a.m. to noon, and an afternoon session from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., for kids second grade through sixth grade. The cost is $5 per session and is limited to 40 students per session.

The Collegiate Activities Board (CAB) at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) is hosting its annual Bulldog Blitz talent show on Thursday, March 28, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center.

STILLWATER. – In February 2021, a round of sub-zero temperatures crippled the 60-year-old greenhouse facility at the OSU Agronomy Research Station, nearly destroying OSU’s internationally- acclaimed wheat breeding program.

Students in the Business Technology program at Western Technology Center, Sayre Campus, competed in the State Leadership Conference of Business Professionals of America in Tulsa, OK on March 4-6, 2024, as reported by Susanne Silk, BPA Advisor.
