Elk City Senior Honored by Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence
Elk City Senior Honored by Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence

Elk City High School senior Becky Yang has joined the top 100 seniors in Oklahoma by being named as an Academic All State by the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence for being top in her class and in the state. She is also one of seven in the state who scored a perfect 36 on her ACT. She will be honored at the 38th Annual Academic Awards Celebration Sat., May 4th, at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Norman.

March was a month of measles and oil fever (neither fatal!). Both the Ira and Will Cain families suffered from measles; Will’s family had seven cases at once! Sweet Mistress Spring proved fickle by producing 4 1/2 inches of snow on the level. It snowed all of one day, but much melted as it fell. It was worth money to wheat and oats.

Cell phones make it easier to sync our schedules, but it seems I’m always talking to the top of their heads while they stare at their phones! When I insist they put the phones down, there’s an argument. I just want to “unplug” sometimes! Where do I even start?”
