OKLAHOMA CITY – Funding opportunities to advance the grape and wine industry within Oklahoma are now available through the Oklahoma Viticulture and Enology Fund. Eligible applicants include higher education institutions, government agencies (state or subdivisions of Oklahoma), and trade groups promoting grape and wine production in Oklahoma.

4th Annual Gotebo Trade Day
4th Annual Gotebo Trade Day

The 4th Annual Gotebo Trade Day will be held on June 3rd from 9AM-4PM at Penn Park in Gotebo. This year we have over 90 registered vendors with items ranging from garage sale and flea market items, crafts, jewelry, bath and beauty, direct sales, sweet treats and MORE! Three food trailers will be set up serving a variety of foods including authentic mexican food, BBQ, hamburgers, and more! There will also be refreshing Sno Cones to help you cool off during the day! A Cornhole tournament begins at 11AM with 1st and 2nd place payouts and a horseshoe tournament will start at 2PM also with 1st and 2nd place payouts. Live music will be performed by Dani Carson. In addition, there will be train rides, pony rides, face painting and bounce houses for the kids Oklahoma Life TV will be returning again this year as well to live stream the event! 100 Swag Bags filled with goodies and other items from participating vendors will be handed out to the first 100 shoppers! This year a 3 in 1 Ranch rodeo has been added and is hosted by the Shady Five-Eighty group starting at 7:30 PM. Included in the events are Mutton Busting and Ride the Hide Race! TheGoteboRound Up Club will have the concession stand open and serving food during the ranch rodeo. Come spend the day shopping, eating great food, listening to great country music, letting the kids ride the train and ponies and then staying for the Ranch Rodeo in the evening. Summer Arts Camp Registration Open for Two Age Groups

The annual Summer Arts Camps have been decided and registration is now open. There are two different age groups with camps directed which are age appropriate. The class sizes are limited, and registration will be open until the classes are full. The cost is $25 per class and will run from June 5th through June 29th . Each class is eight sessions. Tuition includes a camp T-shirt.

Rivera-Noblitt Receives Scholarship From Metcalfe Museum

Bianca Rivera-Noblitt was the recipient of the $1000 Break O’ Day Farm & Metcalfe Museum 2023 Art Scholarship on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at the Elk City High School Award Assembly. Rivera-Noblitt will be attending Rose State College in the fall and she plans on majoring in Fine Arts. Along with the $1000 scholarship to Rivera-Noblitt, the Elk City High School Art Department received $500.

Elk City man sentenced to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections

A 44-year-old Elk City man has been sentenced to ten years in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to a protective order violation, child neglect, and child endangerment. One charge of child sexual assault had been dropped.
