On Monday night, the Sayre Lady Eagles squared off against the Fredrick Lady Bombers, but the only bombs getting dropped were by the Sayre offense.

The Elk City Elkettes put a whooping on the Cache Bulldogs on Monday. The final score was 51-30.

The Merritt Oilerettes landed a solid victory on Tuesday night against the Hobart Bobcats. The final score was 66-26.

1. We talk ourselves into energy or exhaustion. As we listen to someone who drags through life, and every other word they speak is some form of “tired” or “weary” or “exhausted”, sometimes we get tired just listening to them talk themselves into being tired!

The ocean is vast and ever changing; shimmering and calm one moment, restless and rough another. But, the waves always return to the shore. The way of love is much like that of the sea. It is beautiful, yet unpredictable - storms may brew, but calm always returns to make way for loving and happy moments. Like the love of God, true love never fails. As Valentine’s Day approaches let us meditate on the way of true love and rededicate our love to that special one in our life, with God’s help. Happy Valentine’s Day.

Elk City’s Sarah Senger has joined Elisabeth Mustachia in her Psychiatric Wellness practice in an Elk City office. Mustachia is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, who holds a master’s degree in nursing and has been a nurse since 2003. Their practice provides an integrative approach to help individuals with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mood disorders. Additionally, they help with hormone levels, inflammatory markers, and nutritional deficiencies.

Elk City FFA is currently taking orders for Blue & Gold sausage, bacon & chicken strips as well as DJs fajita meat, smoked hams and sausage croissants. Prices are the same as when they sold these familiar favorites in the fall and delivery will be the week of March 25.

The Collegiate Activities Board (CAB) at Southwestern Oklahoma State University is hosting auditions for its annual Bulldog Blitz talent show.

Thirty-five teachers from across Oklahoma participated in a day-long Professional Development Workshop hosted by the Southwest Alliance for Girls Enrichment in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Humanities, and Mathematics (SAGE STEAM) at the Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) Weatherford campus on Saturday, Feb. 3.
