The 13th Annual Fit and Fun Bicycle Ride will be held on Sat., Aug. 19th, with registration at 8 a.m. and the event starting at 9 a.m., at the Arrowhead Center in Elk City. The event is free for kids who can be pre-registered, or they can register the morning of the race. Shirts and helmets will be given away on a first come, first serve basis.

Agency 2024 Amount Awarded We strongly support the Elk City Area United Fund which is a great way to fund multiple agencies with one effort and one gift.

My dad, Jerald Edward Hansen, was born to Bernece (Burckhardt) Hansen and James Hansen in the small town of Russell Minnesota on March 22 in 1939. He was the second youngest of 5 children: Audrey Olson (deceased); Donald (deceased); Beverly Carl (deceased) and Carolyn Mundt. He was a restless and mischievous young man at Russell High School playing basketball, football, and occasional hooky.

Thomas Jackson Bradley, Jr., “Jack”, age 88, died Saturday, August 5, 2023 in the Veterans Medical Center at Claremore, Oklahoma following his health issue with Alzheimer’s disease.

A 41-year-old Elk City City man has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center on a $3,500 bond after being charged with resisting an officer, public intoxication, and felony assault and battery on a police officer.
