A 42-year-old Elk City man was released from the Beckham County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond after being charged with a violation of a protective order.
The investigation began at approximately 2 pm on February 5 after an Elk City Police officer spoke with the alleged victim.
The woman reportedly held a temporary protective order against Tommy Lee Bennett, Jr.
The woman had allegedly received a friend request from Bennett on Snapchat, a social media app.
The woman also allegedly had received a message from Bennett.
The officer was given a copy of a protective order.
Bennett is due back in court on March 7.
