Mayfield named Top Ten Recruit
OKLAHOMA CITY, Wednesday, April 3, 2024 – The Oklahoma City Thunder has opened registration for its summer youth basketball camp in Elk City for kids ages 6-14.
STILLWATER, Okla. – Two Beckham County students were honored by the Oklahoma State University Ferguson College of Agriculture with academic scholarship support for the 20242025 academic year.
On Monday, the Sayre Lady Eagles squared off on the softball field against the Burns Flat- Dill City Lady Eagles.

The Sayre High School girls golf team placed second at last week’s Sayre Golf Invitational.
The Sayre Eagle high school baseball team extended their conference schedule record to 5 wins no loses following two wins last week. The first win was at Cordell where the Eagles used a powerful performance on the mound by Rocky Willis who faced only 18 Blue Devil batters, striking out eleven and allowing only one hit in the 13 - 1 Eagle win. Ironically the hit he gave up was in the first inning and the batter made the circle to score the unearned run on a throwing error.
The Senior team placed 4th at regionals, with only a four target difference between 1st and 4th place, earning a sweet sixteen spot at the state competition to be held April 17th.
The Sayre Lady Eagles fall 4-5 to Dill City-Burns Flat last game. The game was even tied at the bottom of the seventh with four runs each until BFDC scored.
Sayre Eagles Fly at shooting competition
The Sayre Eagle High School baseball team broke a ten year drought when they toppled the Hobart Bearcats in a 4 inning run rule contest by the score of 13 to 2 on Eagle field last Tuesday evening. Hobart put across their first run in the top of the first inning which was unearned due to an Eagle error. Hobart got their first of 2 hits in the game on a single by the lead off batter. A walk and an error gave up a Hobart run before Rocky Willis struck out the next two batters to end the top of the first inning. The Eagles exploded in the bottom half of the first inning by tacking on 7 runs on 6 hits 2 walks and 2 Bearcat errors.
The first ever Junior High School Elk City team participated in its first tournament on Monday, March 25th at the Elk City Golf & C.C. Both, boys and girls played nine holes.
