Duck and goose hunters who just can’t wait for regular seasons to arrive can go ahead and dust off the decoys for Oklahoma’s September teal-only hunting season and nine-day special resident Canada goose season. Both seasons began Sept. 9 statewide.

A 32-year-old Lawton man has been released on a $5,000 bond after being charged with felony officer obstruction and putting bodily fluids on a peace officer, as well as driving under the influence and transporting an open container.

Elk City Fire Department honors 9/11 fallen in OKC Memorial Climb

The Elk City Commissioners met for their regular monthly meeting Tuesday evening instead of Monday due to the Labor Day holiday, at 7 p.m., in City Hall. Mayor Cory Spieker opened the meeting with the invocation, and Rod Carver led the flag salute. All commissioners were present, along with City Manager Tom Ivester and City Treasurer Jennifer Rainey.
