County Health Departments Host Pool School in April

LAWTON – The District 5 County Health Departments announce the upcoming Pool Operator Training, also known as “Pool School,” in Lawton, Altus and Elk City. The training is an opportunity for attendees to learn important information related to safe pool operations.

LAWTON – The District 5 County Health Departments announce the upcoming Pool Operator Training, also known as “Pool School,” in Lawton, Altus and Elk City. The training is an opportunity for attendees to learn important information related to safe pool operations.

There is no fee to attend the class. The instructor will be Victoria Hovell, a public health specialist at Oklahoma State Department of Health specializing in public bathing, and will share information regarding pool safety and maintenance.

The first Pool School is scheduled for Comanche County on April 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Comanche County Fairground Prairie Building, 920 SW Sheridan Road, in Lawton. The second Pool School takes place in Jackson County on April 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Southwest Technology Center, Room 109, 711 W. Tamarack Rd., in Altus. Pool School’s final class is in Beckham County on April 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Western Technology Center, Room 103, 301 Western Dr., in Elk City.

“The training will provide pool operators with knowledge and skills helpful to the operation of pools,” said Hovell. “We welcome anyone responsible for the maintenance and safety of a pool to attend this class.”
