Time is running out to pre-register for the upcoming Elk City Schools reunion of all students who attended or graduated through the 2003 school year. Approximately 400 have already signed up for the event.

A 31-year-old Altus woman is being held on a $250,000 bond in the Beckham County Detention Center for trafficking fentanyl and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

A 36-year-old Elk City man has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center after being charged with drug trafficking, knowingly maintaining a dwelling for controlled substance violations and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A 21-year-old Elk City man has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center after being charged with unlawful actions related to licensed dealers and private sellers.

ELK CITY – As Medicaid unwinding continues, Delta Dental of Oklahoma (DDOK) and its Foundation are helping Elk City residents access critical oral healthcare resources, regardless of their insurance coverage status.

During the three-minute public comment time of the Elk City Commissioners meeting on June 21st, at their regular meeting, Steve Berry, ICADC, Western Oklahoma Opioid Coalition Coordinator, and Beckham Associate County District Judge Michelle Roper spoke about possible ways the opioid litigation funds could benefit western Oklahoma communities. The two talked about the dollars that will be dispersed from the settlements with Johnson and Johnson and three other opioid distributors which will go to the city and other communities.

It is well-documented that Oklahoma and most states have a shortage of teachers.

The Elk City Commissioners met for their regular monthly meeting on Monday, July 3rd, at 7 p.m, in City Hall with all commissioners present. Mayor Cory Spieker opened the meeting with the invocation, followed by Jeff Waters leading the flag salute. Prior to tackling the agenda, the commissioners held a public hearing for two rezoning proposals.
