A 23-year-old man has an outstanding warrant after being charged with multiple theft crimes.

The Elk City Commissioners met for their regular bi-monthly meeting, Wed, March 20th, at 2 p.m. in City Hall. All commissioners and the mayor were present for the meeting. They began with a public hearing concerning three properties located at 605 W. 10th, 521 S. Adams, and 409 N. Main. City Inspector Jackie Addington presented the commissioners with information concerning each structure.

A 34-year-old Sayre woman is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond after being charged with child neglect and drug possession.

The Erick Little League Hog Roast benefit dinner will be held on Saturday, 4/6, at the Erick Fire Barn. It was a busy week at the Capitol as we concluded hearing House bills. We passed 422 House Bills and Joint Resolutions, just a small percentage of bills filed this year.

Oklahomans who want to change party affiliation, must submit their change no later than March 31 Roger Mills County Election Board Secretary Jana Maddux said today.

Statewide election activity officially begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 3rd when the candidate filing period opens, the Secretary of the Beckham County Election Board said today. Candidates for state offices file with the Secretary of the State Election Board. Candidates for county offices file with the Secretary of the County Election Board. Beckham County Election Board Secretary Sherron Manning said the following offices are expected to be filled this year: County Commissioner District 2 County Court Clerk County Clerk County Sheriff Filing forms and information for county offices may be obtained by contacting the Beckham County Election Board at 580-928-3314 or beckhamcounty@elections. ok.gov. The Beckham County Election Board is located at 306 E. Main Street, Sayre, OK and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Filing packets for all offices are also available for download on the State Election Board’s website at oklahoma.gov/elections. The filing period closes at 5 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2024.

Early voting begins Thursday, March 28 th for voters in Roger Mills County, that are registered to vote in the Hammon School District. Voters who will not be able to make it to the polls on Election Day, have the option of voting early at their County Election Board.
