The Oklahoma Wildlife License Modernization Act was signed into law March 26 by Gov. Kevin Stitt after it previously passed the state House of Representatives and Senate. The measure streamlines and simplifies hunting and fishing licenses, and will provide funding for the Wildlife Conservation Department primarily by adjusting license costs to regional averages.

Shirley Jean Teague

Shirley Jean Teague, 68, of Elk City, was born on November 6, 1955, to Willard Eldon & Edna Mae (Johnson)Teague in Elk City, Oklahoma, and was called home by her Lord & Savior on March 27, 2024, while surrounded by her family in Wylie, Texas. Shirley graduated in 1974 from Rocky Ford High School in Rocky Ford, Colorado. She was blessed with her only child, Christina Lynn, in April of 1978. Shirley’s employment history included Western Communications Answering Service, Anthony’s Department stores, and Bonnie’s Bail Bonds. Her last 10 years of employment were spent in the Gate Security division of CUDD Pressure Control Services for the Elk City yard. For a few years, Shirley was a licensed pilot. An accomplishment of which she was extremely proud.
