Elk City woman charged with enabling child neglect

An arrest warrant was issued on November 8 in the Beckham County District Court for a 61-year-old Elk City woman after the Elk City Police Department had previously charged two other adults last week in the same case.

Last week the Beckham County Record reported upon the arrests of Nicholaus McLaughlin and Amanda Monie. The pair were each charged with child neglect.

Now the third person, Andrea Colleen Mc-Laughlin, has been charged with enabling child neglect in the case.

The investigation began on October 3 when the Beckham County Sheriff’s Office reported alleged child neglect at an apartment on the 1900 block of West Broadway.

The BCSO was at the residence to serve an eviction notice.

The three above listed adults were reportedly in the residence at the time that the eviction no- tice was being served.

The apartment allegedly was “unsanitary and in biohazardous conditions.”

Monie and Nicholaus Mc-Laughlin were arrested at the time for child neglect.

At the time, Andrea Mc-Laughlin reportedly suffered from a medical emergency while law enforcement were on the scene.

She now faces charges of enabling child neglect.

A bond had not yet been set for her.
