Elk City man jailed for felony drug charge

A 23-year-old Elk City man is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $6,000 bond after being charged with maintaining a dwelling or building for keeping or selling a controlled dangerous substance. The investigation began at approximately 7 am on May 5 when Elk City Police Department officers served an authorized search warrant and an arrest warrant on the 1120 block of West A Avenue.

Although the charges were officially filed on May 13, the report states the investigation began in September. The reporting party claimed that a guest had been “beat up by her boyfriend.”
