US Veterans Invited to Luncheon
Once again there is an open invitation to all veterans on Nov. 10th, to celebrate Veterans’ Day at Barber/Dyson Ford located at 501 US Rt. 66 in Elk City. This is a free lunch that is being sponsored by Barber/Dyson, Hutch’s Convenience Stores, and the American Legion Post 181. There will be hamburgers and hot dogs, with all of the trimmings served. This event has been an annual invitation for the past few years.

Local Family Makes their Debut in “Miracle on 34th Street”
With a cast of over 30, Denton, Joanna and Blake Wood have committed to the Red Carpet Community Theatre’s production of “Miracle on 34th Street.” The show is being directed by Clinton’s Jim Hull. This production will open on November 10, and run November 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 2023. Friday and Saturday shows will begin at 7:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

SOUTHEAST Blue River: October 24. Elevation is below normal and stable, water temperature 64°F and clear. (USGS Lake Level) Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass fair on crankbaits, jerk baits, spinnerbaits, and tube jigs around brush structure, channels, rocks, shorelines, and weed beds. Channel catfish fair on chicken liver, punch bait, and stinkbait around brush structure, channels, and rocks. Report submitted by Ethan Lovelace, biologist at the Blue River Public Fishing and Hunting SOUTHWEST Waurika: October 20. Elevation is normal and falling, water temperature 80°F and murky. Striped bass hybrids, white bass, and saugeye fair on crankbaits, lipless baits, plastic baits, and small lures around docks, main lake, points, and rocks. Largemouth bass and crappie fair on crankbaits, plastic baits, PowerBait, small lures, tube jigs, and worms around brush structure, docks, main lake, rocks, and weed beds. Blue and channel catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait, dough bait, minnows, and stinkbait around creek channels, docks, main lake, and rocks.
