Merritt Oilerettes JH’s effort to come back from down four runs in the third inning came up just short, as they fell 5-4 to Elk City Middle School on Friday. Merritt Oilerettes JH closed the gap by scoring on a home run and a ground out.

Sayre Varsity Lady Eagles were triumphant over Navajo Varsity Indians 5-4 on Saturday.

Sayre Varsity Lady Eagles defeated Cordell Varsity Lady Blue Devils 12-0 on Saturday thanks in part to seven runs in the second inning. Payton Ewer doubled, scoring one run, Emily Easter tripled, scoring two runs, a wild pitch scored one run, Addi Mariano drew a walk, scoring one run, and Layla Stout grounded out, scoring two runs.

Edward Jones Financial Advisor Justin Koch of Elk City has been named to the 2023 Forbes Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors Best-in-State ranking by Forbes/SHOOK Research. The list is comprised of more than 1,460 financial advisors nationwide, all under age 40. This is the second time Koch has been named to this prestigious list.

Head out to the Elk City Motorsports Park Sat, Aug. 12th, to see the USRA Lt. Mods, the ECMP Factory Stocks, and USRA Tuners go head-to-head in the first of three races taking place in August. This racing program is bringing cars from a three-state area for racing entertainment for the whole family.

The 13th Annual Fit and Fun Bicycle Ride will be held on Sat., Aug. 19th, with registration at 8 a.m. and the event starting at 9 a.m., at the Arrowhead Center in Elk City. The event is free for kids who can be pre-registered, or they can register the morning of the race. Shirts and helmets will be given away on a first come, first serve basis.
