Erick Ramblings

The Erick City Council has approved the creation of the Veteran’s Memorial Monument at 205 S Sheb Wooley. To help kick off this project, there will be a flag-raising on Friday, 11/10, at 10:30 a.m. at 205 S. Sheb Wooley, across from Erick City Hall. The event will follow a veteran’s breakfast at the First Baptist Church and a veteran’s program at the grade school. Memorial donations may be made at the First Bank, PO Box 1228, or the City of Erick, PO Box 25, both in Erick, OK 73645..

The Junior Thanksgiving Dinner is this coming Sunday, 11/12, from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. with local deliveries included and take outs also. Tickets are on sale now for ages 12 years through adults at $12.00, children ages 5-11, at $7.00 each and children 4 and under are free.

Our little town of Erick has suffered so many losses this past week. Please lift up all of the families and their friends that are grieving as it is especially difficult right now.

Much love and prayers are being sent to the Perry and Cox families, for the loss of Carsen Perry. Services were pending at the time of this column.

Services for Elizabeth Flowers will be held this Thursday, 11/9, at 10:00 a.m., at the Erick first Baptist Church. Our thoughts are with her family at this time.

Sincere sympathy goes out the family of Debbie Hurlburt, who lost her brave battle with cancer on 10/25/23.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Mildred Korene Reimer. Graveside services were held on Monday, 11/6, in Madill, OK.

Happy Anniversary wishes are being sent out to Will and Monnica Laster on 11/9. If you know of any more, please let me now. . I don’t show any others for the last part of November, but if you know of any, feel free to let me know.
