In last week’s Beckham County Record, an article stated that a Beckham County Sheriff’s Office deputy was injured in an altercation between two inmates and was taken to the emergency room.

Elk City man held on $100,000 combined bond

A 40-year-old Elk City man is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on two $50,000 bonds for a combined $100,000 bond. Cody Ray James is being charged with domestic assault and battery, domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, joyriding, and injury to an emergency worker. The investigation began at approximately 5:19 pm on April 3 when the Beckham County Sheriff’s Office received a call advising that James had allegedly tried to hit a man with his truck and wrecked into a tree.
