The Elk City School Board held its regularly scheduled meeting on June 10 at the Elk City Board of Education.
For school boards, most summer months are dedicated to hiring any possible staff openings and completely the fiscal year.
“Basically housekeeping,” explained Elk City Superintendent Mike Sparks.
This meeting was short — approximately 25 minutes long.
Sparks said the big news is that the school is fully staffed.
The board also approved listing a 2005 Blue Bird and 2010 Blue Bird as surplus.
Both are school buses that will be sold. The board agreed to approve the Basic Legal Services Program agreement with the Center for Educational Law for the 2024-2025 year.
Sparks explained that this is standard for Elk City and most public schools.
The board also approved insurance quotes from the Oklahoma School Assurance Group.
