Wildlife Commission Approves Migratory Birds, Antlerless Deer Season Dates; Passes Leaner Budget
During a regular meeting June 5, the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission approved hunting season dates and bag limits for the antlerless deer gun seasons and migratory bird and waterfowl seasons for 2023.

CASA of Western Oklahoma is excited to announce our newest CASA volunteers! They have completed 30 hours of in service training and are ready to serve our 5 counties. Those counties include, Custer, Beckham, Washita, Roger Mills and Dewey. Our CASA Volunteers advocate for abused and neglected children in western Oklahoma who are in the foster care system. Elk City woman held for failing to register as asex offender and residing near apark or school
A 45-year-old Elk City woman is being held at the Beckham County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond after being charged with failing to register as a sex offender and two counts of residing within 2,000 feet of a school, park, or daycare.

Archer Secures $2.5 Million for City of Elk City
Prior to the regular Elk City Commission meeting Monday, June 5th, Representative Nick Archer announced that the legislature passed two emergency programs that will secure $2.5 million for the City of Elk City. On June 2nd HB 1017x the Emergency Relief and Impacts Grant Program was passed by a vote of 94 to three, along with HB 1020x Appropriated Funds to Emergency Funds to Emergency Management and Homeland Security that passed by 91 to four. Both bills go into effect immediately because they were declared an emergency.
