Easter is this coming Sunday, 4/9. The Annual Erick Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt will be begin at 1:00, this coming Saturday, 4/8, weather permitting, at the City Park for ages 0-12 years of age. If the weather forces this to be cancelled, they will reschedule for a few days later but will no doubt post that on Facebook.

A Beckham County man was arrested Tuesday after Sweetwater School officials notifi ed the Beckham County Sheriff ’s Office of a threat received by email.

Dream League celebrates 13 years on March 25 Opening Day
When Ashley Meadows first came up with the Dream League in 2010, she was only a few years into her career in occupational therapy. However, she and a colleague had realized that children with disabilities benefitted from social and physical activities.

The Alumni Committee Announces Mike Mathews as 2023 Parade Marshall
The Alumni Committee would like to announce Mike Mathews, as the 2023 Alumni Parade Marshall. Mr. Mathews has taught at Sayre Public Schools for 35 years, teaching band from 5th graders to 12th graders, he retired in 2011, however he is still currently a member of the Sayre community after 43 years, and to this day he is still part of the Pride of Sayre Band, helping every day. He is the epitome of a wonderful teacher who truly cares about teaching students the “Art of Music”. Thank you Mr. Mathew’s for all of your hard work and dedication that will live on forever with Sayre Alumni and current students.

Brush up on wildfire plans during the winds of March
STILLWATER – This time of year, strong, spring winds whip across the prairie, and the smell of a grass fire may be detected in the air. John Weir, Oklahoma State University Extension fire ecology specialist, said March is the windiest month, driving wildfires in the dormant season before the brown, dead grass gives way to new spring growth.
