Elk City woman held for failing to register as asex offender and residing near apark or school

A 45-year-old Elk City woman is being held at the Beckham County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond after being charged with failing to register as a sex offender and two counts of residing within 2,000 feet of a school, park, or daycare.

A 45-year-old Elk City woman is being held at the Beckham County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond after being charged with failing to register as a sex offender and two counts of residing within 2,000 feet of a school, park, or daycare.

The investigation began on June 1 when an Elk City Police Department Animal Control officer contacted an ECPD offi cer with information that registered sex offender Jackie Rhodes had allegedly been living at Kings Inn in Elk City.

The ACO was responding to a report of abandoned cats.

Rhodes is a sex offender who was registered in Washita County.

The ECPD officer confi rmed that Rhodes was allegedly supposed to be living in Dill City.

Rhodes is a level 3 sex offender and reportedly had not updated her registration since June 2022.

Registered sex offenders must inform law enforcement within a week of moving to a new town.

The officer reportedly confirmed that Rhodes had been staying at the Kings Inn.

Rhodes reportedly worked at a local restaurant.

The officers allegedly learned from co-workers that Rhodes had also been staying on the 900 block of North Walker.

Rhodes allegedly admitted to staying at Kings Inn when found at the North Walker residence.
