CAROL POTTER
CAROL POTTER
She loved people and was beloved by so many. Her parents, Jack and Ernestine Potter her brother Robert Potter, and her Uncle Bob and Aunt Nola predeceased her. She is survived by her husband, Paul Jonjak; siblings James Potter, Debra Gholston, Errol Grossman, John Potter, Margaret DeMauro; her stepchildren Arwen Mogab, Sarah Mogab, Mark Jonjak, Katherine Jonjak; their children Elizabeth Jonjak Plahn, Chase Jonjak, Colton Jonjak Plahn, Mary Eizraelov, Tamar Eizraelov: and Pierre-Jean Mayol, her exchange student “adopted” son.
Carol never forgot her roots as a farm girl in Elk City, Oklahoma even as she achieved recognition as an extraordinary dentist and entrepreneur. Carol showed those she mentored and worked with what passion, perseverance, and a drive for excellence can achieve.
She was a force of nature, a beacon of love, and a true example of what it means to live life to the fullest. Never an idle moment as she balanced professional achievements with an exuberant embrace of the things that make life a journey of joy. Riding “Freckles”, the family horse, jumping from the hay loft, picnicking by the ponds of her childhood home, canoeing wilderness rivers, skiing black diamond slopes, preparing gourmet banquets, collecting art, taking in the theater whether on Broadway in New York or in London, and world travel from Antarctica to the great wall of China, the raucous hustle and bustle of India, the mysticism of Machu Picchu, the wonder of Mayan, Greek and Roman ruins.
Carol graced the world with her charm, strength, intelligence, elegance, and love of life. She and her husband, Paul Jonjak, were blessed to be able to share every moment of the last 30 years, whether at work or at play, hand-in-hand with bonded souls.
Despite the challenges of dementia, Carol and Paul made the most of their last years together, aided by the love and support of friends and family. She was the sunshine in our lives and will live on forever in our memory and dreams.
A memorial service will be held at the Elk City United Methodist Church at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 14, 2024.
