RICKY TARBET
Ricky Vern Tarbet was born on March 26, 1956 to Charles and Texetta (McCurley) Tarbet in Shamrock, TX. He passed at his home in Sayre, OK on November 11, 2024 at the age of 68 years, 7 months, and 16 days.
Ricky grew up in Shamrock, TX. He attended Shamrock Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1974. After high school, Ricky lived in Lubbock and Houston where he worked for Red Air Freight Line. He moved to Canadian, TX and began his career in the oilfield working for Meridian Oil as a lease operator. Ricky began working for Conoco Phillips as production supervisor, this career led him to live in Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana before moving to Sayre. Ricky retired from the oilfield industry after working in it for over 40 years. On September 10, 1982, Ricky married Tonya Adkins in Canadian, TX at the Canadian Church of Christ, and to this union four children were born Kyle, Amber, Cody, and Tori.
Ricky enjoyed golfing and fishing in his spare time. He enjoyed traveling cross country with his family.
He is preceded in death by his brother Randy Tarbet.
He is survived by his wife Tonya Tarbet of the home; five children Ryan Leathers of Olton, TX, Kyle Tarbet and wife Lauren of Oklahoma City, OK Amber Tarbet of Oklahoma City, OK, Cody Tarbet of Oklahoma City, OK, and Tori Tarbet of Franklin Massachusetts; four grandchildren Jayden, Shaylee, Jodi, and Sophia; parents Charles and Texetta Tarbet of Shamrock, TX; two sisters Robin Clark and husband Tony of Canyon, TX, and Rhetta Medart and Bryan of Smyer, TX; two brothers Ritchie Tarbet and wife Cindy of Lubbock, TX, and Reese Tarbet and wife Minnie of Brownsville, TX; special friends Darren Skelton of Elk City, OK and Jerry Robertson of Shamrock, TX; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
