BOBBY NILE PUTMAN

Bobby Nile Putman was born on October 7, 1946 in Sayre, OK to Eugene and Olene L. (Basler). He passed on September 19, 2024 in Cheyenne, OK.

 

Bobby grew up and attended school in Sayre. At Sayre schools he graduated with the class of 1966. After graduation Bobby enlisted in the US Army where he served in the Vietnam War. While faithfully serving his country, he earned many accomplishments such as the Army Accommodation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Unit Award, Vietnam Service Medal and the Combat Infantrymans Badge.

On May 23, 1970, Bobby married Bobbie White and to this union three children Angel, Gene, and Melody. Bobby worked many jobs in his life time. As a teenager he worked as a gas attendant and as a young adult he worked in the oilfield. He lived in Sayre, Pampa, and then Amarillo, TX where He went to work at Public Steel as a fabricator. He worked there for 42 years and retired as the supervisor of the company.

In his spare time Bobby liked to work and tinker in his garage. He watched football and Fox News. He enjoyed collecting and trading guns. Bobby loved taking care of his little baby (dog Tinky).

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Gene Putman, life long companion Virginia Muro, brother Bill Putman and wife Glenda.

Bobby is survived by his two daughters Angel Fults and husband Mitch of Cheyenne, OK and Melody Pennington and husband Perry of Dempsey, OK; grandchildren Kayla Bryant, Morgan Hanson, Jacob McDowell, Dalton McDowell, Devon McDowell, Brittany Putman, Tyler Putman, Hailey Putman, Evan Putman, Madison Forcum, Marli Pennington, and Rylan Pennington; brother Larry Putman and wife Morene of Shamrock, TX and sister Penny Putman of Oklahoma City, OK; nine great grandchildren with two on the way; his beloved dog baby girl Tinky; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
