ELLIS EUGENE BREEZE

ELLIS EUGENE BREEZE

Ellis Eugene “Rusty” Breeze was born April 11, 1947 to Ellis and Louise Breeze at Elk City, Oklahoma and “rode on out” to his heavenly home on July 31, 2024 at his home in Carter, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family.

Rusty accepted Jesus as his savior at a young age and was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church at Carter. He was a graduate of Carter in 1965. Growing up and teen years, Rusty and his brother, Jacky broke lots of colts and enjoyed rodeoing together all over Western Oklahoma. He was also known to be a good calf roper and all around hand in the pasture! A little later he met his first love Debbie York and they were married on May 24, 1969. They lived their entire marriage on the Breeze Centennial Farm North of Carter. Rusty spent most of his work life cowboying and retired from Beckham County #1.

Rusty and Debbie were blessed with 2 daughters; Kristi Lea and Kari Lyn. Kristi lovingly gave him the name “Daddle” which is what he was known as by most since then. Rusty’s passion in life was his family, raising nice horses along with farming and ranching. He was also known to buy and sell a few cows here and there! He took great joy in his kids, grandkids and great grandkids spending time and making priceless memories with them.

After Debbie’s passing in 2014, Rusty shared a lot of days with his good friend Troy Jones. Many hours were spent visiting with other friends at the Carter Cafe over coffee and a biscuit. Rusty would meet his second love, Brenda Robertson in the summer of 2015 and go on to be married May 4, 2016. They both enjoyed retirement and a love for the farm and ranch life. Brenda was an amazing help mate to Rusty driving him many miles to check on cattle, water, and grandkids. The last several years Rusty and lifelong friend, Wilse Street would head to sale barns to buy and sell cattle.

“Daddle” was loved and respected by all that knew him. He will be greatly missed until we are all reunited for eternity.”

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and mother of his girls, Debbie Breeze; brother, Jacky Breeze; maternal and paternal grandparents; aunt, Marquita Boone; cousins, Len and Pam Boone; 2 brothersin- law, Van Barnes and Joe Draper; and best friend, Troy Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Robertson Breeze, of the home; 2 daughters, Kristi Damron and husband, JD and Kari Britton and husband, Trent; 5 grandkids, Dalton Aldridge and wife, Brittani, Tristan Breeze, Gracie Lewis- Damron, Trayden Britton, and Taylea Britton; 4 great grandkids, Braycen, Trapper, Scout, and Denver Aldridge; 2 sisters, Sandra Silk and husband, Brian and Kim Haseloff and husband, Todd; 2 sistersin- law, Brenda Breeze and LaQueta Draper; 1 brother-inlaw, Larry York and wife, Paula; 1 uncle, Bill Boone; 2 cousins, Mark Boone and Stacie Skelton; 6 nephew, Jim York, Jason Breeze, Bandy Silk, Tyler Breeze, Beau Barnes, and Ben Barnes; 3 nieces, Julie York, Shannon Breeze, Bri Silk and a host of other relatives and friends.
