Bob was born on July 28, 1946, in Sayre to J.E. and Frankie (Turner) Bruner and passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024, in Weatherford. Bob was raised and attended school in Sweetwater and Erick where he graduated from Erick High School in 1964.

During high school, Bob excelled in math. Bob finished the regular math curriculum by his sophomore year and the high school had to bring in accelerated math books from Southwestern Oklahoma State University for Bob to continue his education. His mother, Frankie, once said: “If that boy fell over and cracked his head, nothing but numbers would fall out!” Bob went on to college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Accounting. Bob subsequently earned his CPA license. While in school, Bob met the love of his life, Lamona Basler, and they were married on October 7, 1966, in Leedey. After college, they moved to Grand Prairie, TX, where Bob worked for the Department of Defense. In 1971, they returned to Weatherford and started their family.

Bob also started his own accounting firm where he worked for the next 53 years of his life. Bob served as the President of the School Board when the original Weatherford High School burned down. In 1986, his wife, Lamona, passed away at the age of 38 years. Bob enjoyed being at the office, visiting with friends, helping anyone in need, and attending the NFR Rodeo in Las Vegas with one of his best friends, Ted Kimzey. Bob also enjoyed traveling later in life with his partner in crime, Linda Grimes.

Bob is survived by two sons, Justin Bruner and wife, Ronda Smicklas of Norman, and Clayton Bruner and wife, Lisa Jansen of Weatherford; three sisters, Leann Smith and Donna Sanders and husband, Charles both of Erick, and Debra Finsterwald of Wheeler, TX; and six grandchildren, Paxton, Kealin, Lola, Rhianna, Luke and Frankie. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lamona; and one brother, Billy.
