After high school, she attended college and graduated in 1980 form Oklahoma State University with a degree in Interior Design. After college Debbie moved to Phoenix, AZ where she lived for 8 years. In 1988 Debbie moved to Pagosa Springs, CO where she began her chairside dental assisting career.
After returning to western Oklahoma, Debbie began working for Nowlin Dental in Elk City, as a chairside dental assistant for many years. She then became their office manager for 28 plus years. Debbie enjoyed helping others and made many life long friends during her career. Debbie retired in December 2020.
Debbie was united in marriage to Bobby Poff on January 14, 2000 in Love county Marietta, OK. Upon marriage to Bobby, she gained four step children Randi Wynn, Bobbi Blake, Sarah Brooks, and Garrick Poff. Debbie enjoyed teaching the kids about kindness, cooking, craft making, finances and life in general. Debbie’s greatest loves were her husband, Bobby, step children, step grandchildren, family and her animals. Two of her special cattle were, her steer, Thumper, and her heifer calf, Lucy, her bottle calf. Debbie was a true animal lover and her family called her an animal whisperer as she could tame any animal.
Debbie is survived by her husband Bobby Poff of the home; step children Randi Wynn (Jason) and children of Hammon, OK, Bobbi Blake (Roger) and their children of Weatherford, OK, Garrick Poff and his daughter of Elk City, OK and Sarah Brooks of Vinita, OK; two brothers Warren Sanders (Cheryl) of Marietta, OK, Larry Sanders (Cathy) of Tempe, AZ; one sister Mary Jean Vencl (Rex) of Stillwater, OK; mother-in-law, Lavera Poff Elk City, OK; nieces Heather Sanders and children of Lago Vista, TX and Lauren Kaminski (Daniel) and son, of Chandler, AZ; many cousins and friends. She is also survived by her cats Trapper Jo, Tooter, Little Kitty and Blackie Jo and many feral cats that she fed, chickens and cattle, especially her beloved Belted Galloway cattle.
Debbie was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, her parents and one niece Amy Cornelsen.
