Berlin Community Building will host the annual fundraiser dinner on June 8, 2024, at 6:00 pm. The monies raised will be used for the upkeep of the building and to continue the monthly dinners. As money is available, building improvements are completed. The menu will consist of chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, rolls, salad, homemade desserts and is by donation.

Man jailed after allegedly telling OHP they will have to shoot him

A 23-year-old man has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center after being charged with obstructing an officer and concealing proceeds from illegal drug activity. Ahmed Omer Abdalla reportedly told Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers that he was a varsity coach in Virginia but in Oklahoma for a drug paraphernalia charge in Oklahoma County during a routine traffic stop on May 21.

Sayre man charged with pointing firearm, threatening violence

A 64-year-old Sayre man has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center after being charged with planning an act of violence, feloniously pointing a firearm, and threatening to perform an act of violence. If convicted, Kevin Ray Powers will face up to ten years in prison. The investigation reportedly began on May 11 when the Sayre Police were called to the 800 block of North Second Street.
