On Thursday, October 5, 2023, the officers of the Business Professionals of America (BPA) were officially installed. The ceremony was held in the seminar room of the Western Technology Center (WTC) in Sayre. The ceremony involved a candle lighting ritual for each of the officers installed. Mrs. Susanne Silk is the Advisor of the Sayre BPA chapter.

Business Professionals of America is the leading CTSO (Career Technical Student Organization) for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other related career fields.
BPA has more than 51,000 members in over 2,300 chapters in 23 states. BPA is an organization that supports business and technology teachers by offering curriculum that is based on the highest national standards. Online resources and materials are available for each school to customize their program.
The Workplace Skills Assessment Program (WSAP) prepares students to succeed by offering real-world business and problem-solving skills in finance, management, IT and computer applications. WSAP is the showcase program for BPA, because it enables students to demonstrate their career skills at regional, state and national conferences.
Some of BPA’s other major programs include the Scholarship Program, the National Leadership Academy, and the National Officer Elections. The Torch Awards Program and Special Recognition Awards Program recognizes students and chapters for their leadership and service to the community.
