A 23-year-old Erick man has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center after being charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Additionally, Colby Ray Speed was charged with driving without a license.
The investigation began on September 25 when an Elk City Police Department officer was patrolling near South Randall.
The officer observed a maroon Chevrolet pickup truck allegedly traveling at a “high rate of speed.”
The officer alleged the vehicle to be going 42 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone.
The officer made a traffic stop. The officer also reportedly knew that Speed was in possession of a vehicle that had been reported as stolen.
The VIN number reportedly confirmed that the truck was stolen.
Speed was arrested without incident.
