A 19-year-old Elk City man is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a combined $150,000 bond after being charged with first-degree rape.

Jacob Edward Haro faces up to life imprisonment, but not less than five years, if convicted.

The investigation began on September 17 after the Sayre Police Department received a “walk-in report of rape.”

The reporting party was there on behalf of a minor child.

Haro had allegedly come through the child’s window during the night and stayed without the knowledge of adults.

The report is lengthy, but details are being withheld to protect the alleged victim.

Haro was later detained by an Elk City Police Department detective.

After Sayre Police picked up Haro, he allegedly stated that he believed he had been drugged in some way by pizza rolls.

He allegedly said people were working to “frame him.”
