Next Steps at Western Technology Center

September was “Workforce Development Month” and CareerTech is a leader in workforce development in Oklahoma. Western Technology Center celebrates this every day as it works with business and industry and high school and adult students to meet the needs within our communities with skilled training and a ready workforce.

September was “Workforce Development Month” and CareerTech is a leader in workforce development in Oklahoma. Western Technology Center celebrates this every day as it works with business and industry and high school and adult students to meet the needs within our communities with skilled training and a ready workforce.

Students from WTC-Sayre and WTC-Burns Flat recently participated in a “Next Step Summit” at the WTC-Burns Flat campus. Students rotated through three sessions. Session 1 was with an Employer Panel: Burl Stricker, Entrepreneur and Lisa Seibold, Seibold Enterprises shared about employer expectations, seeking, and keeping employment and much more. Session 2 had Next Step Booths for students contemplating their “next steps” after graduation. ank you to WOSC, USAO, OCCC, Redlands, OSU -IT, SWOSU and OU for coming. ere were also representatives from the National Guard, Oklahoma Employment Security Commission, and the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma. Session 3 students chose between Simple Budgeting with Audie Corning or Employment Benefits with Serenna Hitter discussing practical life skills and workplace information. Western Technology Center is committed to “educating people for success” and is readily preparing students for “Next Steps”.
