Erick Ramblings

The “Purple People Eater Fest” is finally here! All parties involved have worked very hard to put together this event for everyone to enjoy. The three day event, beginning this Friday, September 29th will last through October 1st. This is just a very brief listing of events taking place that weekend. There will be a Purple People Eater Picture Show (a movie in the part at 8:00 on Friday night, a Purple Parade downtown on Saturday morning at 10:00; Sheb’s Shindig, a street dance on Saturday night from 8-11 p.m., featuring the Jimmy Lee Jordan Band, a pancake breakfast planned for Sunday morning, plus Wooley’s Bazaar, a three day vendor’s market to display and sell their items. Not to mention a Car Smash, dunk tank, and a raffle for a hog hunt (knives only!) at the Lost Creek Ranch. The hog hunt winner will be announced Saturday night. Tickets for the hog hunt raffle are $5 each. I am not sure of the deadline for parade entries or vendors, but groups or individuals can contact Megan Wreyford at City Hall or call 580-526-3924 for all of the details.
