Elk City School Board meets for September meeting

Audit moved to next month

The Elk City School Board met for their regularly scheduled meeting on September 11 at 6 pm at the Elk City Board of Education.

The biggest agenda item was to review the annual audit, prepared by Britton, Kuykendall and Miller.

However, Rick Miller informed the board that the audit was not yet completed.

The firm is famously thorough, so that is to be expected.

Superintendent Mike Sparks said he appreciates that the group is being thorough.

The audit discussion was moved to next month.

The Estimate of Needs was also approved. This is the school’s budget. Every other agenda item was approved. This included hiring Stephen L. Smith Corporation as a financial advisor to the school, approving Zach Maynard for two hours of anatomy at Elk City High School, and policies with the Western Tech Vocational Center.
