A 31-year-old Carter man is being held in the Beckham County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
Earlier this week in Beckham County District Court, Zachary Blaine Smith Breeze was charged with two counts of knowingly possessing stolen property and had a $5,000 bond on those counts.
At press time, Breeze was being held on a $250,000 bond. More information will be reported as the Beckham County Record receives it.
The two stolen property charges were related to alleged stolen cattle.
The report was filed by a special agent with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture.
The investigation reportedly started on June 19, 2023, when the agency was contacted by the Greer County Sheriff, Steven Mc-Mahon, relating to a farm burglary.
In that, there were allegedly nine black Angus cows, one black Angus bull, and one red Angus cow with a black calf, which were stolen.
The alleged stolen cattle reportedly had a brand of D3.
On June 27, the agent allegedly learned that a gray gooseneck trailer was used to haul cattle for Breeze to the Elk City Sale Barn.
The agent stated that the trailer was returned to the Breeze residence and parked in the barn.
On June 30, the agent reportedly received video from the Elk City Sale Barn that allegedly confirmed that the trailer was an exact match to one from the same place that the cattle were allegedly stolen.
When visiting Breeze’s residence on July 3, the agent and a special ranger allegedly observed a mower that they said appeared also to be reported stolen.
When speaking to Breeze, he allegedly confirmed that these things were stolen.
