A call from the director of the Elk City Civic Center alerted police to possible stolen copper.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of James Michael Clark of Hammon.

The investigation began on July 6, 2023, when an employee of Force Electric reported stolen copper that was allegedly found inside one of the Civic Center buildings.

Upon arrival, an ECPD officer met with two Force Electric Employees.

The two employees reportedly stated that the wire had been allegedly stolen from their trucks and had been found inside the building.

The officer then spoke with Director Julie Brewer, who reportedly had alerted the men.

Brewer detailed finding it. The investigation allegedly found that Clark had stolen the copper.
