Agency 2024 Amount Awarded We strongly support the Elk City Area United Fund which is a great way to fund multiple agencies with one effort and one gift.
The Elk City Area United Fund was born just after World War II and is now over 75 years old. It has served our community area well down through the years.
The real purpose when it was founded was to pull multiple agencies under one campaign and make it easier to fund them, less expensive in time, labor and cost to run separate campaigns and to do things that need to be done or funded in the process.
Those who are now, and have in the past, done the fundraising are all donors themselves and also are doing their effort as dedicated volunteers.
A good many of these served for many, many years in helping the fund to be successful and helping it help the many good agencies and programs on its list.
The Elk City Area United Fund drive is always held in the last half of the year before its funding serves the recipients. After all, the money needs to be in hand to pay the agencies in increments during the year of Elk City Arts Council $6,500.00 Civil Defense $1,000.00 Action Associated $9,000.00 HELP, Inc.
$10,000.00 Meals on Wheels $7,000.00 Salvation Army $2,000.00 CASA $3,000.00 Total $38,500.00 their operations.
We take this opportunity to thank all of those who give to the Elk City Area United Fund and especially to thank all of those volunteers both now and in the past.
The strength of a community shows in many things, including its ability to organize and to accomplish goals. The Elk City Area United Fund is one of these good examples of community strength.
