An Elk City man is being held on a $115,000 bond — a total between four separate bonds — after being charged with malicious destruction of property and assault and battery upon a police officer.

The investigation began at approximately 5 pm on August 1 when a Beckham County deputy was notified by the detention captain Scotty Scott about an alleged staff assault within the Beckham County Detention Center by inmate Christoper Wolfe.

Wolfe allegedly stood up, grabbed a phone near the book-in bench, and took the phone off the hook. He then reportedly let the phone hang by the chord, grabbed it by the cord, and pulled on it.

His left leg shackled Wolfe to the bench, but it allegedly that Wolfe grabbed a detention deputy by his chest area.

The detention deputy’s face reportedly had red scratch marks and blood on the right side of his face.
