Beckham County Sheriff’s Office app help lead to arrest in burglary case

Over the weekend, the Beckham County Sheriff’s Offi ce released a notification on their app to alert citizens of two people wanted in connection with an alleged burglary that was reportedly in progress.

This alleged incident had occurred in the New Liberty area of Beckham County.

Two people were arrested overnight in relation to the series of burglaries.

Sheriff Derek Manning said on Sunday evening that, as of press time, nine people in total had been arrested in relation to the case and nearly $20,000 in property had been recovered.

Michael Williamson is the only name being released at this time.

He was caught on foot.

A female who was reportedly believed to be involved in the case was also taken into custody.

Her name is not yet being released.

Manning said the citizen who alerted authorities was aware of the situation due to the app.

He thanked the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the Roger Mills and Washita County Sheriff’s Offices, the Erick Fire Department, the Erick Police Department, the Elk City Police, and the Oklahoma Wildlife Department for assisting in the case.
