It’s been quite the busy summer here at Sayre Public Library. From Summer Reading, to Shark Week, and author visits we’ve been working hard to provide fun, family friendly, educational programs for all to enjoy.

Our Friends of the Sayre Public Library group are gearing up for their first annual Mother Son Dance happening Saturday, August 5 at the Methodist Church. Tickets are on sale now and available to purchase at the Library. They are $20 a couple and $5 for each additional son.

Loret Photography will be taking photos once again. She did a wonderful job at the Daddy Daughter Dance and the Friends group is thrilled to have her back. There also will be some surprise guests appearing! Tickets must be purchased in advance and will not be sold at the door. The Friends group are excited and so very proud to host this event and bring more family friendly events to the community. All proceeds will go to Sayre Public Library for future programs.

Thursday, July 27th we have a very exciting and nostalgic event planned at 3pm. We’ll be showing the movie Believe in Me which is based on coach Jim Keith and some amazing Sayre ladies. Not only will we show the movie but Billie Cook and other wonderful ladies who were apart of this team will be here to tell their story. It’s going to be a wonderful time! We invite the community to come and enjoy this event. We’ll close out the month with Lego Club the next day at 3pm. The kids are having so much fun with this and have such amazing creative minds! We always have their creations on display throughout the month for all who come in to see.
